Things to Avoid after Aesthetic Surgery of the Nose

After having rhinoplasty or aesthetic surgery of the nose, there are certain precautions you need to take. Of course the surgeons or the doctors will tell you about that in details, but there are a few things that you absolutely should not do post surgery.

Know about the post-surgery care in details

What you should understand, that rhinoplasty or the aesthetic surgery of the nose is an extremely complicated process and requires good post-surgery care. Also, consulting a good plastic surgeon is extremely important. Always consult someone who is experienced and who has done similar operations before. In most cases, the surgeon will give an extensive guideline or instructions to take care before and after the surgery. Also, the surgery leaves the nose in a delicate condition, so it should be treated with utmost care. Any kind of damage can be extremely harmful. You cannot be impatient during the healing process, as it can take quite a bit of time to heal.

What you should not do during the healing process

There are a few things that the doctor will absolutely ask you to avoid after the rhinoplasty or the aesthetic surgery of the nose is done. You should avoid all sorts of rigorous activities including exercise. This helps in many ways. Not only does the body gets its time to heal, you can also diminish the possibilities of any potential injury.

You cannot blow your nose for at least three weeks after the process. It sounds difficult, but you need to do it, otherwise there can be bleeding. The same applies for sneezing or sniffing. If there is an urge, you can actually dab the nose with a soft tissue. Or, you can simply do it keeping your mouth open. But never sneeze or sniff through the nose. Your swelling might just get badly affected.

If you wear glasses, then you need to chuck the habit for a few days. The surgeon recommends at least 3 weeks post surgery. Contact lenses are the next best options. Or you can simply ask your doctor to help you in this matter.

You cannot lift or bend to pick up any heavy objects. This will cause internal swelling and may even lead to bleeding. If you are already using any medicines, please inform your doctor. Any unauthorized painkillers will be severely damaging to the process.

Always consult the surgeon about post-surgery care. Try to follow the instructions to the tee and there will be least problems.
